To provide a method for controlling ink moistening liquid balance in which an optimum emulsification of ink and moistening liquid can be adjusted after the shortest period of time, and with high reproducibility.
Quantity of a moistening liquid to be supplied to a printing plate is adjusted in advance. Quantity of ink is practically kept constant, and the quantity of the moistening liquid to be supplied is calibrated and adjusted to a set value of the moistening liquid quantity characteristic to a printing order each time. The quantity of ink is increased or decreased from a set value to an ink quantity target value desired for a printing order to be treated. In response to this, a set value of the moistening liquid quantity is increased or decreased to a moistening liquid target value in the same direction. The quantity of the moistening liquid to be supplied is controlled depending upon the target value of the moistening liquid quantity in a closed loop circuit.
