Abstract:
PURPOSE: To obtain data capable of referring to at the time of maintenance of a magneto-optical disk and a magneto-optical disk device and also to obtain timing of saving data recorded on the magneto-optical disk, etc.
CONSTITUTION: A format date is recorded in a vendor unique VU of a DMA of the magneto-optical disk 1, and when a sector alternation processing is generated, the history of this date is formed to be recorded in a secondary defect management list SDL of the magneto-optical disk 1. Then, when the occurrence frequency of the alternation processing is increased, a host device is warned of this effect.
