PURPOSE: To provide a recontrol method for tobacco without intensively reducing the CV of tobacco in balanced state or without intensively degrading tobacco, and a drying method for tobacco while preventing the CV of tobacco from being intensively changed in balanced state or preventing tobacco from being intensively degraded.
CONSTITUTION: The tobacco to be recontrolled is brought into contact with an air current having a relative humidity closer to the balanced state of tobacco. With the increase of OV content in tobacco, the relative humidity of air current in contact with tobacco is increased so as to be operated upon the recontrol of tobacco. The tobacco to be dried is let be in contact with an air current having relative humidity closer to or lower than the balanced state of tobacco. With the decrease of OV content in tobacco, the relative humidity of air current in contact with tobacco is decreased so as to be operated upon the dry of tobacco. The tobacco can be successfully recontrolled or dried in continuous manner while using an independent piled-up helical conveyer.
