Abstract:
PURPOSE: To execute stable continuous casting by intensely preventing disturbance of level control for molten metal surface in a mold with an opening degree control for tundish stopper.
CONSTITUTION: The tundish stopper 3 is used to only opening/closing at the time of starting/stopping the casting. At the time of auto-starting the casting, the level control in the mold 4 is executed by the velocity control of a pinch roll 9 in a control system 35 of high gain and a small time constant. At the time of stabilizing the molten metal surface level in a mold 4 in the meniscus range, the auto-pour control is executed by the velocity control of the pinch roll 9 with the control system 59 of low gain and a large time constant.
