To provide a method for determining a fixed engineering standard for controlling the quality of soil at soil compaction in terms of the whole of the soil for use in fill, so as to control the quality of the fill in accordance with the standard.
In this method for controlling the quality of the fill, a plurality of compaction curves are determined for each fine-grained fraction content in terms of the soil to be used as the fill; the soil with each of the degrees of the compaction and each of the fine-grained fraction contents, which are determined from the compaction curves, is used as the fill, so that the range of an air space ratio can be determined in such a manner as to satisfy required strength with consideration for a decrease in strength due to rainfall; and the quality of the fill at the soil compaction is controlled with a correlation with the strength by means of a relationship between the fine-grained fraction content and the air space ratio, a relationship between the degree of the compaction and the air space ratio, and a relationships among the fine-grained fraction content, the degree of the compaction and the air space ratio.
