Abstract:

To provide a method for controlling a selective reflection wavelength band region of cholesteric liquid crystal aligned matter to a desired value.

The method controls selective reflection wavelength band region of cholesteric liquid crystal aligned matter, containing a side chain liquid crystal polymer comprising a monomer unit (a) containing a fragment side chain with positive birefringence to the desired value by making the side chain liquid crystal polymer include a monomer unit (α) which is capable of reducing birefringent characteristics of the fragment side chain of the monomer unit (a) as a comonomer unit and by varying the ratio of the monomer unit (α).
