To provide a method of simple constitution for controlling a slot machine by computer control without requiring a control table/determining means based on a hit frequency control table or a symbol selecting/display means based on the content of winning or failure.
Symbols in a prescribed number of lines before and after the symbols corresponding to random numbers are selected from a reel strip layout table, and a layout pattern consisting of the symbols in the prescribed number of lines in each reel is obtained. The display screen of the slot machine is displayed based on the obtained symbol layout pattern, and the content of winning/failure of the obtained symbol layout pattern is determined by a winning determination means. As a result, the hit frequency can be controlled only by changing the reel strip layout table, and the symbol layout pattern can be easily displayed without depending on the determination of the content of winning/failure. The slot machine is controlled in this way.
