PURPOSE: To make an igniting operation unnecessary even under a condition that combustion heat is not needed is continued for a long time, by intermittently feeding only solid fuel into a combustion chamber when combustion is taken place under the above-mentioned condition.

CONSTITUTION: When a sensor 36 senses a condition that combustion heat is needed in a solid fuel combustion equipment, a controller 34 actuates both motor 16 and blower 24 to start to replenish both solid fuel and combustion air into a combustion chamber 10. Because intermittent operation of a motor 16 always keeps some half-burned fuel in the combustion chamber, newly replenished solid fuel can be ignited by heat of solid fuel which is continuously burning in the combustion chamber. With such an arrangement, an igniting operation is not necessary even under a condition that combustion heat is not necessary is continued for a long time in the titled solid fuel combustion equipment.
