Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a Stirling refrigerator to improve refrigerating capacity per unit electric input by a method wherein by providing a means to vary an optimum frequency to obtain maximum refrigerating capacity, an optimum tuning frequency is maintained according to a spring constant when the constant is deviated from a design value.
SOLUTION: In a method for controlling a free piston type Stirling refrigerator comprising a piston 7 reciprocating within a guide part 9A sealed with working gas; and a displacer 32 elastically supported in a reciprocating manner within a cylinder 31, sealed with working gas, through the force of a spring 35, in the stable temperature state of the Stirling refrigerator 1, the drive frequency of the piston 7 is controlled in an optimum state to a frequency responding to the spring constant of the spring 35 to elastically support the displacer 32.
