Abstract:

To further refine the crystal grains of a magnesium alloy in a method for controlling the structure of a magnesium alloy, a magnesium alloy with a controlled structure, and a wheel for a vehicle.

The method for controlling the structure of a magnesium alloy where a magnesium alloy is subjected to strain working, so as to control its structure comprises: a strain working process (S12) where a magnesium alloy is subjected to strain working at 180 to 230°C; and a recrystallization process (S14) where the strain-worked magnesium alloy is heat-treated at a recrystallization temperature, so as to be recrystallized. Then, the magnesium alloy preferably comprises 5 to 10 mass% aluminum. Further, the crystal grain size of the structure-controlled magnesium alloy is 3 to 10 μm. The wheel for a vehicle is produced using the magnesium alloy.
