Abstract:
To prevent occurrence of troubles such as drawing in a tail end portion of a rolled work after passing a rolling mill when the work is suddenly cut on the inlet side of the rolling mill during the rolling operation, and to considerably shorten the down time caused by checking, roll change or the like attributable to the troubles.
When a work is suddenly cut (emergency cut) by a finish crop shear 12 on the inlet side of a rolling mill while rolling the work by a finish rolling mill 10 set to a first thickness, the thickness change control is performed to change the set thickness to the rolling mill 10 to the second thickness t2 larger than the first thickness with a cutting time as a reference.
