Abstract:

PURPOSE: To automatically control an accurate real time of a knife clearance angle and to efficiently conduct cutting work of a veneer without disorder by utilizing a vibration of a certain frequency range indicating that the angle is inaccurate.

CONSTITUTION: The method for controlling a veneer lathe clearance angle comprises the steps of measuring a vibration frequency range in a veneer lathe, inputting obtained vibration frequency information signal to a logic control unit 9, comparing the obtained signal with a stored reference information signal, and generating a control signal in the unit for altering a knife clearance angle when the vibration of the certain range indicating that the angle of the knife 6 is inaccurate occurs. The method further comprises the steps of controlling and altering the angle to remove the vibration component indicating the inaccurate angle in the input information signal from the information signal.
