Abstract:
To provide a method for converting a kerosene distillate and a gas oil distillate as middle distillates in crude oil refining into 2 to 4C olefins by a simple processing means.
The method is one for converting crude oil middle distillates into olefins, wherein a kerosene distillate (KERO) and/or a light gas oil distillate (LGO) are selected from among distillates obtained by the atmospheric distillation of crude oil and are further fractionally distilled, and a light kerosene distillate and/or a light light gas oil distillate are selected and are used as a feedstock to a thermocracking apparatus. It is particularly preferable to use, among them, the light kerosene distillate which is convertible into olefins in higher yields.
