Abstract:
PURPOSE:To obtain a converted picture more close to an original picture by finding out the virtual density level of a selected reference picture element stored in a virtual density level table and setting up a value obtained by the threshold processing of the virtual density level as the density of an aimed picture element. CONSTITUTION:The virtual density level table 3 is connected to a threshold processing part 4 and the threshold processing of the virtual density level of a reference picture element U = u(i, j) extracted from the table 3 is executed to settle the value IT of a converted picture element T. The plane of the converted density picture element is formed by the converted picture element T having the value IT with a prescribed conversion ratio to attain picture element density conversion. The virtual density levels of an inner picture element UN' to original picture elements P-S are calculated, the average value of the calculated values is found out to calculate the virtual density level IUN' of the inner picture element UN' and the virtual density level IU of th found reference picture element U = u(i, j) is previously is stored in the table together with its coordinates (i, j). Consequently, converted picture mode more close to the original picture by suppressing removal or collapse as small as possible can be obtained.
