Abstract:
PURPOSE: To convert light hydrocarbons consisting mainly of paraffins into lower olefins and monocyclic aromatic hydrocarbons.
CONSTITUTION: A light hydrocarbon raw material is mixed with at least one free radical initiator selected from an organic peroxide and an azo compound and subsequently thermally cracked. Lower olefins, monocyclic aromatic hydrocarbons, especially, ethylene and propylene can be produced in high yields.
