Abstract:

To form a gasoline fraction having an improved octane number and a light oil fraction having higher cetane number than those of an original fraction.

The method comprises a membrane separation step applied to a hydrocarbon stock oil under a condition under which the selective separation to the majority (β fraction) of straight chain olefins present in the stock oil, and a fraction (γ fraction) containing the majority of branched olefin and constituting a gasoline, an oligomerization step applied to the straight chain olefins (β fraction) contained in a flowing out material flow from the membrane separation step under a mild oligomerization condition, a distillation step applied to the flowing out material flow caused at the oligomerization step and for separating the flow to two fractions, and a hydrogenation step applied to one fraction obtained at the distillation separation step.
