Abstract:
To provide a method for cooling a casting cast into a green sand mold with which use amount of a recyclable molding sand can be reduced and the cooling time for each casting can be adjusted.
After casting molten metal into the green sand mold, a primary cooling is performed until the temperature of the casting becomes lower than a solidus temperature and a portion which is not affected by the molten metal heat in the green sand mold containing the casting to which the primary cooling has been performed, is collapsed, separated and removed, and a secondary cooling is performed to the casting surrounded with the remaining sand heated for the time corresponding to an attribute of each casting.
