To provide a method of cooling granulation water in an ash melting facility attaining operation at a low running cost because of high cooling efficiency and allowing low-cost installation neither needing a large installation place nor using an expensive piping material.
In the method of cooling the cooling water in the ash melting facility using a sealed type cooling tower 10 for cooling granulation water by wetting a sealed circuit 90 in a state of circulating the granulation water 7 used as slag cooling water in the ash melting facility, through the sealed circuit 90 shut off from the atmosphere, water for wetting is repeatedly used being circulated through a circulation circuit 13, and the circulation circuit of water for wetting is provided with a conductivity meter 14 serving as a granulation water leakage detector.
