Abstract:
PURPOSE: To correct the faces of teeth while preventing damages to carburized and hardened layers when the faces of teeth having carburized and hardened layers are corrected.
CONSTITUTION: The carburized and hardened layers 20 are formed on the surface of a toothed steel alloy member. The ironing allowance of tooth 15 is about 0.1 to 0.3mm in terms of BBD dimension. Correcting is carried out by holding the surface of teeth 15 by pressing to be ironed by the ironing surface 36 of a mandrel 31 while the outer circumference 1c of toothed member is contained by the first containing surface 35 of a die 30. The base material part inside of carburized and hardened layer 20 of tooth part 12 is allowed to flow in the direction shown by the arrow K1 to fill a clearance 40. Since material moving a accompanying ironing absorbed by clearances 40 and 44, a flow along the axial longitudinal direction is not basically generated.
