Title:
METHOD OF COUNTING INSOLUBLE PARTICLES CONTAINED IN AQUEOUS SOLUTION OF CARBOXYMETHYL CELLULOSE ETHER ALKALINE SALT
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPH08151401
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To count insoluble particles directly in relatively high precision by casting a sample of an aqueous solution of a carboxymethyl cellulose ether alkaline salt into a transparent container to form a film, picking up the image and counting insoluble particles in the static image.

CONSTITUTION: The concentration of an aqueous solution of a carboxymethyl cellulose ether alkanine salt is adjusted to 0.01-1.0wt.%, and an electrolyte in an amount to give a concentration of desirably 5-30% and a dye are added to the solution to prepare a sample aqueous solution. This solution is packed into a sample tube 1, and is quantitatively poured with a pump 3 into a flat transparent container 4 through a passage 2 to cast the solution to form a film of an even thickness of 5-200μm. The image of the cast liquid film is continuously picked up with an image pickup device 5 to obtain static images. A single or plural static images are displayed on a cathode-ray tube display 7, the insoluble particles are counted directly or with an image processing means 6, and the results of counting is shown on the display 7.
