Abstract:

To provide a method for efficiently creating highly advanced-type cultured muscle cells having metabolic ability and insulin reactivity in a state further approximate to living body and sustaining its highly contractile activity over a long period, and to provide a method for assaying saccharometabolic ambience changes including contractile activity-dependent muscle-advancing process or insulin reactivity rise associated with arbitrary artificial stimulation.

A method for creating myotube is provided, comprising (1) a step of culturing myoblast on feeder cells, (2) a step of differentiation-inducing the myoblast into myotube in an amino acid-rich medium, and (3) a step of applying electrical pulse stimulation onto the differentiation-induced myotube.
