Abstract:
To provide a method for cultivating orchid capable of controlling the petal color thereof.
This method for cultivating orchid includes the step of irradiating an orchid with rays of light emitted from a light source in the period of its stalk or stem growth. In the method, the rays of light are such that the proportion of the effective photon flux density for photosynthesis of blue rays of light 450-470 nm in wavelength in the total effective photon flux density for photosynthesis is deviated from that of the effective photon flux density for photosynthesis of the blue rays of light with the above wavelengths in the total effective photon flux density for photosynthesis of sunlight.
