Abstract:

To provide a method for culturing Pleuronectiformes fish excellent in growth rate.

A method for culturing Pleuronectiformes fish is characterized by irradiating a culture area with any of red light comprising a single peak having a peak top of 635±15 nm, blue light comprising a single peak having a peak top of 465±15 nm, green light comprising a single peak having a peak top of 520±15 nm and white light comprising by combining a single peak having a peak top of 450±15 nm and a single peak having a peak top of 550±20 nm. In particular, when irradiating the Pleuronectiformes fish with the blue light, the green light or the white light in the case that water temperature is 10°C or under, its growth rate increases, and in the case that the water temperature is over 10°C, the growth can be accelerated by the irradiation of the blue light, the red light or the white light.
