PURPOSE: To obtain a coating film having excellent processability, hardness, solvent resistance, flexibility and a adhesion to metallic substrates, by applying a specified paint compsn. to a substrate, heating it and irradiating it with light.
CONSTITUTION: A photo-curable resin having a polyfunctional oligomer content of not lower than 70wt% (e.g., a polyester acrylate) is blended with a photopoly merization initiator (e.g., benzophenone) and optionally, silicon, wax, an applica bility modifier, a dye, a pigment, etc. to obtain a photo-curable resin compsn. (B). A thermosetting resin (A) such as a clear amino paint or on oil-free clear alkyd paint is blended with the component B in a weight ratio of A to B of 95:5W2:80 on a solid basis. The paint compsn. is applied to a substrate, either irradiated with infrared rays having a wavelength of 2W20μm for 10sec to 2min or heated at 140W200°C for 2W20min and then irradiated with ultraviolet light at an output of 80W160W/cm for 1W30sec to cure it.
