To provide a method for correcting a creep of a strain gage type load cell capable of suitably estimating and correcting the creep even in the case of complicately changing a load history of the cell and a method for deciding the creep capable of suitably deciding the creep.
A load cell 10 is constituted by attaching strain gages 11, 21 for forming two pairs of bridge circuits at one strictive element 2 in such a manner that creep characteristics are large in one circuit and small in the other circuit between the circuits and adopted. By comparing one with the other so that an output of the circuit having small creep is main, and an output of the circuit having large creep is sub. In this case, a balanced state in which output values of the circuits 12 fall within a predetermined width so that the increase and the decrease in the loads are almost eliminated is detected. A value obtained by multiplying a change amount of the sub-output value after the balance state by a predetermined coefficient to a creep correction value, and the correction value is subtracted from the main output value to correct it.
