Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for deciding a noise figure corresponding to a noise in a signal including identical signal parts in a noise-free signal.
SOLUTION: The noise figure corresponding to a noise in a signal is used to control a noise reduction filter similarly to the case with control of other digital enhancement circuit, especially an image enhancement circuit. This is especially useful for the digital signal processing in recent television receivers. This invention assists the furthermore effective use of an image enhancement algorithm in the recent television receivers.
