Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To uniformize the intervals in the space positions of respective horizontal lines by executing at least vertical direction thinning to permit the number of the horizontal lines of an odd numbered field to be equal to that of the horizontal lines of an even numbered field in a second reproduction image and executing format conversion to uniform the intervals of the space positions in the respective horizontal lines.
SOLUTION: An animation coding method is provided with a step for generating a first reproduction image, the second step for generating the reproduction image with a lower resolution with respect to an original image and the third step for format-converting it and generating the reproduced image. In the second step, vertical direction thinning is executed so as to permit the number of the horizontal lines of the odd numbered field to be equal to that of the horizontal lines of the even numbered field in the reproduced image which is obtained after thinning. Then, format conversion is executed in the second reproduced image so as to uniform the intervals of the space positions of the respective horizontal lines in the reproducted image which is obtained after a format conversion.
