Title:
METHOD FOR DECOMPOSING HARD RUBBER PRODUCT
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP2770007
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for efficiently decomposing a hard rubber product, particularly a tire having a high natural rubber content by conducting treatment with a microorganism belonging to a particular genus in the presence of a soft rubber product.
SOLUTION: A hard rubber product is treated with a microorganism belonging to the genus Nocardia in the presence of a soft rubber. Microorganisms belonging to the genus Nocardia include Nocardia NR-35A (stipulation number FERM P-7266 with National Institute of Bioscience and Human-Technology, Agency of Industrial Science & Technology). Soft rubber products as a substrate for growing of rubber degrading bacteria include natural and synthetic isoprene rubber products. Hard rubber products include tires. Regarding degradative reaction conditions, e.g. culture media usable herein include one containing a rubber as the substrate for the microorganism and, in addition, inorg. salts, containing such as nitrogen and phosphorus. The reaction may be conducted under the conditions of a temp. of 20 to 37°C and a pH value of 6.0 to 8.0.
