Title:
METHOD FOR DEGREASING AND SINTERING INJECTION-MOLDED METALLIC PARTS HAVING METALLIC LUSTER
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPH02254102
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To obtain the injection-molded metallic parts having metallic luster on their surface by kneading fine metallic powder and a thermoplastic binder, injection-molding the mixture, degreasing the molded part while leaving a specified amt. of the binder and then sintering the parts at a specified temp. in a vacuum.

CONSTITUTION: Fine metallic powder and a thermoplastic binder are mixed and kneaded, and the mixture is pelletized. The pelletized material is molded into a specified shape by an injection-molding machine to form the green parts. The green parts are treated in a degreasing furnace and degreased. The conditions in the degreasing stage such as the atmosphere, temp. and time are controlled, and the brown parts, in which 30-60% of the binder is left, is formed. The brown parts are charged into a heating furnace and sintered at 1250-1350°C in a vacuum. As a result, the parts having a smooth surface with reduced open cells and metallic luster is obtained.
