Abstract:
PURPOSE: To continuously supply an electrode by followingly detecting the working directional coordinate of the electrode, confirming that the electrode reaches to a determined position, and executing the motion for delivering the electrode by a set delivering quantity by means of the hold changing operation by a plurality of hold releasing mechanisms in a loop of the total delivering frequency.
CONSTITUTION: The delivering quantity for one electrode delivering operation or the total delivering frequency is calculated by the input of a data specifying the electrode delivering operation of a pipe electrode (3) and electric discharge machining is then conducted. The working directional coordinate of the electrode is followingly detected, it is confirmed that a determined position of the electrode reaches the position of delivering operation, and the motion for delivering the electrode by a set delivering quantity by means of the hold changing operation by a plurality of hold releasing mechanisms 16, 20 is executed in a loop of the total delivering frequency. Thus, the electrode length can be held at a fixed value according to the form and kind of a material to be machined by the electrode delivery in which the delivering quantity of one stroke is regulated, and when the change of the electrode consumed quantity is not so sharp, the electrode remaining quantity can be minimized by setting the delivering frequency.
