To provide a method for designing a slurry treatment plant the slurry treatment process of which is optimized easily while considering compatibility between filter cake and the drying condition or drying method thereof.
The method for designing the slurry treatment plant comprises the steps of: measuring the dehydrating time F and the drying time D of a dehydrating/drying unit, in which slurry is dehydrated mechanically in a filter press to form the filter cake and the pressure in the filter press is reduced to the upper limit pressure of 200 millibar or lower and the temperature of a filter plate arranged in the filter press is kept at the lower limit temperature of 40°C or higher to dry the formed filter cake; deciding to dispose a drying unit, in which the drying method different from that of the dehydrating/drying unit is used, in the slurry treatment plant when a relationship of D>mF(m=10-14) is satisfied; and deciding to dispose the dehydrating/drying unit in the slurry treatment plant without disposing the drying unit when another relationship of D<nF(n=5-7) is satisfied.
