Abstract:
PURPOSE: To obtain high desulfurizing efficiency even when the blowing of carrier gas is stopped while desulfurizing agent is not blown.
CONSTITUTION: At the time of executing vacuum degassing treatment of molten steel 2 completed of deoxidation in RH equipment, the desulfurizing agent is top-blown together with carrier gas by using a lance 8 from the upper part of a vacuum vessel 5. By this method, an extra low sulfur steel can efficiently be produced and cost of the carrier gas can be reduced and the vacuum degree is easily kept.
