Title:
METHOD OF DETECTING ANTIBIOTIC
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPH06207936
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To combine a labeled antibiotic-binding protein to an immobilized antibiotic, remove the non-combined part to determine the quantity of the combined part, and easily detect an antibiotic in a liquid such as milk.

CONSTITUTION: A fluid sample of liquid medium, at least one labeled antibiotic- binding protein, and an immobilized antibiotic are mixed together to combine the labeled antibiotic-binding protein to the immobilized antibiotic. The labeled antibiotic-binding protein which is not combined to the immobilized antibiotic is removed, and the quantity of the combined labeled antibiotic-binding protein in the liquid sample such as milk is determined. Thus, the quantity of at least one protein in the sample such as milk is detected. As the antibiotic-binding protein, Bacillus and stearothermophilus which are available from antibiotic sensitive microorganisms are preferable, and enzyme and horse radish peroxidase are preferably used for labeling. As the immobilized antibiotic, the same one as that in the liquid sample or an analogous compound may be used.
