Abstract:

To provide a method for detecting biomolecules by utilizing the same field effect transistor.

In the biomolecule detection method by utilizing the field effect transistor, the field effect transistor is provided with: a semiconductor substrate; a source region and a drain region doped with a conductivity type different from the substrate; a channel region disposed between the source region and the drain region; an insulating layer disposed on the channel region and having a detection surface for detecting the biomolecules; and a reference electrode disposed and isolated from the detection surface of the insulating layer. The biomolecule detection method includes: a step of providing a first sample containing the biomolecules to the detection surface of the field effect transistor, and measuring a change in a first electrical signal of the field effect transistor; a step of providing a second sample to the detection surface of the same field effect transistor, and measuring a change in a second electrical signal of the field effect transistor; and a step of comparing the first and second electrical signals.
