Abstract:

To provide a method for detecting a cattle-derived ingredient in a sample such as meat, a meat processed product or feed by PCR technique.

The method for detecting a cattle-derived ingredient in a sample by PCR technique involves using a pair of primers each of which has a cattle-specific base sequence derived from bovine mitochondria 16SrRNA gene sequence. By this method, as the cattle-derived ingredient can be discriminated from other meat-derived ingredients, the objective cattle-derived ingredient in the sample can be detected surely and accurately.
