Title:
METHOD FOR DETECTING CHATTERING OF ROLLING MILL
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP2964887
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To immediately take a measure for preventing chattering by judging that chattering occurs when the vibrational energy of a predetermined frequency component exceeds a set value.
CONSTITUTION: The vibrational energies which are detected with vibration sensors 13-16 which are provided on a mill housing 1, gear box 12 and upper and lower work roll chocks 8, 9 are converted into analog signals through vibration meters 17-20 and inputted to a chattering monitoring device 23 having an A/D converter 21 and frequency analyzer 22. The analog signals 25 of rolling parameters of tension, rolling torque, etc., are inputted to the chattering monitoring device 23 from the control section 24 of the rolling mill. The fundamental frequency of every factor of occurrence is operated and set to the chattering monitoring device 23 and, when a vibration level exceeds a threshold for judging the occurrence of chatter mark of every vibration sensors 13-16 and every rolling parameters, alarm is given with an alarm device 26 and preventive measure is taken.
