Abstract:
PURPOSE: To easily and surely detect the condition of an electrode tip, and to appropriately control the electrode tip.
CONSTITUTION: After a work W is held and welded by electrode tips 46, 48, the opening pressure of a second chamber 36 of a cylinder 30 at the prescribed time point while gun arms 22, 24 are opened, and this detected opening pressure is compared with the reference opening pressure at the prescribed time point during the preset normal opening action. The condition of the electrode tips 46, 48 is detected based on the difference between this detected opening pressure and the reference value.
