Title:
METHOD FOR DETECTING AND DETERMINING TRACE AMOUNT OF MOISTURE THROUGH USE OF ACRIDINE DERIVATIVE
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3662475
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To detect and determine a trace amount of moisture in a medium by using an acridine derivative formed of a nitrogen compound part which can be an electron donative radical and an acridine part as an electron accepting radical.
SOLUTION: The formula I illustrates an acridine derivative (R: a nitrogen compound part which can be an electron donative radical, R4: a hydrogen atom or organic residue). The fluorescence intensity of an acridine derivative in a medium or a fixed acridine derivative is measured to detect or determine a trace amount of moisture in the medium. In addition, an acridine derivative indicated in the formulae If or a fixed acridine derivative may be used (R5: a lower alkyl radical, R6: an unsaturated hydrocarbon radical which may have a substitutional radical or radical suspended from a high-molecular skeleton, R7 and R8: hydrocarbon radicals which may independently have a hydrogen atom or substitutional radical). It is preferable that the fixed acridine derivative is a copolymer of an R6 unsaturated radical and alkyl acid or methacrylic acid.
