PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for detecting a foreign material caught by window equipment capable of reducing detecting error by obtaining an accurate value of motor torque accompanying fluctuation in ambient temperature without using a temperature sensor.
SOLUTION: Power window equipment is equipped with a window opening/closing motor 4, a motor drive section 3, a pulse generating section 5, an MCU 2, and an operation switch 1; and a standard median, a standard allowable value and a standard value as the sum of both are established for a plurality of regions each obtained by dividing the whole moving regions of the window. And MCU 2 detects a motor torque when opening or closing the window, compares the motor torque to a preset standard value for the relevant moving region; if the motor torque exceeds the standard value, then the presence of a foreign material is judged and the drive of the motor 4 is stopped or reversed; and the MCU 2 calculates the coefficient of compensation from the motor torque and standard median for each moving region and uses a compensation standard value obtained by multiplying the standard value for the next moving region by the coefficient of compensation at the time of comparing the motor torque to the standard value for a subsequent moving region.
