Abstract:

To decide the twisted state of a rolled stock correctly without damaging the primary function of a roller guide with which the rolled stock is guided correctly.

In the method of detecting the generation of twist on the rolled stock W, when rolling the rolled stock W by using a rolling mill that has a pair of rolling rolls 10, 10, on the outer peripheral surfaces of which a caliber is formed, and guide rollers 13 that are provided on the upstream side or the downstream side of the rolling roll 10, load measuring means 15 for measuring radial load which acts on each pivoting part 14 are provided respectively on a pair of the pivoting parts 14, 14 for freely rotatably supporting the guide rollers 13, and the twist of the rolled stock W is decided on the basis of the result of the load measuring means 15.
