Abstract:

To provide a method for detecting a genetic mutation in short-necked clam and a method for distinguishing the species of short-necked clam or its producing area using the method for detecting.

It has been found that a genetic mutation in short-necked clam can be detected by comparing a microsatellite region of mitochondria gene and/or nuclear gene in short-necked clam. This enabled to provide a method for detecting a genetic mutation in short-necked clam.
