Title:
METHOD OF DETECTING HYDROGEN CONCENTRATION, AND HYDROGEN DETECTOR
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3866236
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce an electric power consumption required for detecting a hydrogen concentration.
SOLUTION: In this hydrogen concentration detecting method for detecting whether a hydrogen concentration is a reference concentration or more or not using a hydrogen detector 1 provided with a detecting element 4 comprising a hydrogen storage alloy storing the reference concentration of hydrogen at a prescribed reference temperature higher than an atmospheric temperature, a micro-heater 2 and a substrate 3 for heating the detecting element 4, and a strain gage 6 for detecting a volume change when the detecting element 4 stores the hydrogen, an operation of the micro-heater 2 is stopped (OFF) usually, and the micro-heater 2 is operated (ON) to heat the detecting element 4 when the strain gage 6 detects the volume change of the detecting element 4 during the operation stop of the micro-heater 2.
