Abstract:
PURPOSE:To quickly detect the position of a movable carrying rail provided with a detecting sensor by moving a head toward the rail at a high speed and, when the sensor detects the head, stopping and moving the head in the opposite direction for a fixed distance, and then, moving the head toward the rail at a low speed and finding the position where the head is finally stopped. CONSTITUTION:A sensor 7 and white reflecting plate 8 are respectively attached to a movable carrying rail 3 and head 4. Then the head 4 is positioned between a fixed carrying rail 2 and the rail 3 and moved toward the rail 3 by means of a driving mechanism at a speed faster than a possible minimum speed. The movement of the head 4 is stopped when the sensor 7 detects the plate 8. The head 4 stops after passing over the rail 3 due to a command lag. Then the head 4 is moved in the opposite direction at a high speed and stopped when the head 4 passes over the rail 3 by a prescribed distance. The head 4 is again moved toward the rail 3 at the possible minimum speed and, when the sensor 7 detects the plate 8, the movement of the head 4 is stopped. The final position of the head 4 is recognized as the position of the rail 3.
