PURPOSE: To detect timing of varying from molten iron flow to slag flow by detecting sonic wave developed from dropped colliding position of pouring flow and deciding the timing of starting flow-out of the slag from varying condition of the sonic pressure.
CONSTITUTION: The molten iron is shifted from a two layer mixed vessel composed of the molten slag layer and the molten iron layer into the other vessel. At that time, the timing of pouring flow varying from the molten iron to the slag is decided. In the method for detecting the timing of starting flow-out of the slag, the sonic wave developed from the dropped colliding position of pouring flow, is detected to decide the timing of starting the flow-out of slag from the varying condition of sonic pressure. Further, the timing of starting the flow-out of slag is decided from the varying condition of frequency of the sonic wave. By this method, this invention can be utilized to automatization for the pouring work of molten iron.
