To provide a method for detecting a truck position in a railway truck system, which can detect positions of trucks with respect to dogs without consuming time for learning dog positions.
In the railway truck system 21, the trucks 25, 27 are runnably arranged on a rail 23 of a closed loop, and a plurality of dogs 29, 31, 33, 35 are arranged in the vicinity of the rail. First of all, when detecting the truck positions, the data of distance between dogs are provided to each truck as preteaching data. Also, discrimination information for discriminating a dog from another dog is allocated for each dog in a bar code form. Then, each truck learns positions of all dogs on the rail on the basis of the discrimination information and distance data detected from the nearest dog. Subsequently, the truck position is detected from the traveling information of the truck and the learned dog position.
