To provided a method of accurately determining bending limitation of a plate material and a method of accurately determining a crack of a pressed component caused by bending using the same.
The method of determining bending limitation of a plate material includes a step of bending the plate material with a thickness of t using a V-shaped punch 1 and V-shaped die 2 to determine the bending limitation of the plate material based on the presence of a crack, wherein an apex R of the V-shaped punch is changed in a range of 0.1<R/t<100 and a span W of the V-shaped die is changed in a range of 1<W/t<1,000 for each R/t to observe the presence of a crack and to determine the bending limitation of the plate material as a function of R and W. It is preferable to use the maximum distortion outside of the plate material bent in a V-shape as a bending limitation of the plate material. Using the bending limitation of the plate material gained by this method enables to calculate and estimate the presence of a crack at a bent part of the pressed component.
