Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for determining the presence or absence of or susceptibility to the occurrence of cancer, preferably gastric cancer, such as scirrhous gastric cancer, or a pharmaceutical composition for treatment and/or prevention of these cancers.SOLUTION: The present invention provides a method for discriminating the presence or absence of cancer affection or the possibility of cancer affection. The method comprises a step of detecting a mutation in the IGF1R gene. The present invention also provides a pharmaceutical composition comprising an IGF1R inhibitor for treating and/or preventing cancer in a subject having a mutation in the IGF1R gene.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3
