Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for decomposing dioxins in molten fly ash containing substances of low melting points such as heavy metal chlorides as a base effectively.
SOLUTION: In the detoxification of molten fly ash by heating, as pretreatment the fly ash is added with an alkali metal hydroxide, or carbonate or an alkaline earth metal hydroxide or carbonate to regulate the pH of the liquid consisting of 1 g of the ash and 100 g of water at 7 or above. The molten fly ash is heated at 200-350°C in an inert gas atmosphere. The molten fly ash is heated at 250-450°C in the presence of oxygen.
