Title:
METHOD FOR DETOXIFYING SLAG OF STAINLESS STEEL
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3675302
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a refining method for a stainless steel by which detoxification of produced slag is attained by restraining elution of hexavalent- chromium, fluorine and boron in the slag without increasing a slag-treatment process, and further, the slag can be utilized as the resource of a roadbed material, material for civil engineering, raw material for cement, etc. by preventing the stag from being powdered and the generation of the harmful slag can be reduced.
SOLUTION: In the reduction-refining period of the stainless steel, the slag composition is adjusted as follow: (%CaO)/(%SiO2)=0.5-1.5; (%Al2O3)=1-30%; (%Cr2O3)≤20%; (%B2O3)≤0.6%; (%F)≤5%; (%MgO)/(%CaO)=0.05-0.4; and (%T.Fe)+(%Cr2O3)+(%MnO)≤20%.
