Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To assist a user to select a location for placement of annotation on an object so as to annotate the proper part of the object and so as to comply with an applicable standard in CAD/CAM/CAE/PDM systems displaying a three-dimensional object together with two-dimensional annotation.
SOLUTION: The system displays through highlighting or other visual means a set of points (50) on the object connected to the leader line of the annotation so that annotation may comply with a standard to be applied. The user can select an optional position point.
